Where did the idea for Afterthoughts come from?

Believe it or not, I've always had crazy and involved dreams. Sometimes recurring ones. When I was little, I had a recurring dream of being chased by a monster that looked like a giant pickle. Thankfully, I grew out of that one!
The story behind Afterthoughts was one of those recurring dreams. At least at the core. Every time I would dream about Paige, my protagonist, I would start writing the book. Then I'd put it down. Then I'd pick it back up. Finally, I took a vacation and banged out the first draft and then went out to a very nice dinner to celebrate.
